LONDON TERROR: ‘BUCKET BOMB’ injures 22 on London Underground

A BLAST that ripped through a London Underground train this morning injuring 22 is believed to be a terror attack, according to reports.

This morning’s explosion left commuters with “facial burns” after a “fireball flew down a carriage”.

A bomb disposal squad arrived after pictures emerged of a suspected device, but police have yet to confirm reports the blast is believed to be a terror attack.

People fled the station screaming as the blast sent flames flying with a Metro reporter at the scene saying people are “really badly burned” adding that “their hair was coming off”.

An onlooker said a “fireball flew down a carriage” with panicked commuters diving out an open door at the South West London station.

A picture believed to have been taken on a District Line train shows a burning plastic bucket with what appear to be wires coming from it.

The Met Police said: “We are aware of an incident at #ParsonsGreen tube station. Officers are in attendance. More info ASAP”.

A London Fire Brigade spokeswoman said: “We were called at 8.21am and we have information there was a fire on a train eastbound at the platform at Parsons Green. We have got two fire engines there.”

Natasha Wills, Assistant Director of Operations at London Ambulance Service said:

“We were called at 8:20am to reports of an incident at Parsons Green underground station.

“We have sent multiple resources to the scene including single responders in cars, ambulance crews, incident response officers and our hazardous area response team, with the first of our medics arriving in under five minutes.

“Our initial priority is to assess the level and nature of injuries. More information will follow when we have it.”

The District Line Twitter feed reported: “We are investigating an incident at Parsons Green. Customers travelling btn Wimbledon & Earl’s Court are advised to use alternative routes.”
