UBER AND OUT: UBER just lost its licence in London thanks to a Labour Mayor controlled by the Unions

UBER has just LOST its licence in London thanks to Labour Mayor Sadiq Kahn and his Union paymasters.

The dramatic announcement today by Transport for London chiefs will dismay the 3.5 million Londoners who use the innovative service and get cheaper fares.

The decision also raises questions over the future of 40,000 minicab drivers who use Uber in the capital.

The shock move has been pushed forward by greedy black cab drivers and the Unions who fund The Labour Party – These black cabbies fear the loss of their market share due to their own failure to innovate.

That means that London’s black cab drivers are now holding Londoners to RANSOM – That means higher fares for anyone who uses the cheaper Taxi option to get around the greatest city on earth.

Mayor Sadiq Khan, who heads up TfL, said that “companies must play by the rules”.

ANTI-INNOVATION: LONDON MAYOR SADIQ KHAN

TfL ruled that Uber was “not fit and proper” to hold a private hire licence and had shown a “lack of corporate responsibility” in relation to public safety.

Earlier this month MPs on the all-parliamentary group on taxis claimed the US firm was not a “fit and proper operator” following a string of alleged sex attacks by drivers.

They claimed police figures showed an allegation of rape or sexual assault against Uber drivers is made every eleven days.

The group, chaired by Labour MP Wes Streeting, wrote a letter to TfL urging it to follow the example of other cities and revoke Uber’s licence for operating in the capital.

But this is nonsense, this is clearly in the self-interest of the Labour Party and the Unions. Uber is SAFER than other modes of transport because all trips are tracked by the companies inbuilt GPS system.

This is a sad day for the free market, showing that Labour and the Unions will always choose to help themselves rather than the wider population.
