TRUMP BACKS MAY: President Donald Trump supports Theresa May’s sanctions on Russia

PRESIDENT Donald J. Trump has said that he supports Prime Minister Theresa May’s decision to expel 23 Russian diplomats as part of the response to the nerve attack on a former Russian spy and his daughter on British soil.

The White House said in a statement that the attack “fits into a pattern of behaviour in which Russia disregards the international rules-based order, undermines the sovereignty and security of countries worldwide, and attempts to subvert and discredit Western democratic institutions and processes”.

Nikki Haley who is the American Ambassador to the United Nations, added that “immediate concrete measures” need to be taken to address issues with Russia.

Haley added: “If we don’t take immediate concrete measures to address this now, Salisbury will not be the last place we see chemical weapons used.

“They could be used here in New York or in cities of any country that sits on this council.

“This is a defining moment.

“Time and time again member states say they oppose the use of chemical weapons under any circumstances.

“Now one member stands accused of using chemical weapons on the sovereign soil of another.

“The credibility of this council will not survive if we fail to hold Russia to account.”

This is a developing story more follows.
