BRUM BLAST: Man ”fighting for life” after Explosion rocks Birmingham, multiple injured

A MAN is fighting for his life and multiple people have been injured after an explosion rocked a residential area of Birmingham.

The blast happened in a residential area at a property in Kingstanding on Dulwich Road, Police said.

The explosion destroyed a house and damaged other properties, multiple people have been reported injured.

“We thought a bomb had gone off.”

Birmingham Live reported that: “Several West Midlands Fire Service trucks” attended the scene with “large crowds” gathering.

People as far away as Sutton Coldfield heard the blast.

One local resident told local media: “We heard a massive bang the fridge door flew open and pictures fell off the wall.”

“First of all we thought it was a car accident. All debris in the road. A car was damaged.”

“We saw part of the house literally missing. We thought a bomb had gone off.”

“There were flames. Everyone came running out screaming.”

It is not yet known what caused the explosion.
