BREXIT CRUNCH: PM Secures ‘Legally Binding’ Changes To Backstop

The Prime Minister has secured “legally binding” changes to the Irish Backstop according to reports and the comments made by David Lidington moments ago in the House Of Commons. She is expected to make a statement soon.

-Beth Rigby has the following update:

  • Steve Baker MP, a leading member of the European Research Group, is “not very optimistic” that the changes agreed are enough to win his support and says the changes “fall short”.
  • Other Brexiteers and the DUP are said to have ‘reserved judgement’ until they have studied the detail.
  • Theresa May looks totally dejected as she sits besides Jean-Claude Juncker.
