PRESIDENT Donald Trump could drop plans for a post-Brexit trade deal due to the rocky relationship between his administration and Britain, a former British ambassador to Washington has said.
Sir Nigel Sheinwald who was British ambassador to the US between 2007 and 2012 said: “Given that Trump’s attitude to the UK seems to have changed for the worst over the last year, at least in a superficial and tonal way, I think that takes out another of the arguments for thinking that this would be a great positive for the UK in the post-Brexit world,” he said. “It will be important for us to get a deal with the Americans, but it will take a long time.”
This is partly to do with the way the British Establishment has treated Mr Trump.
Yesterday, Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London made relations worse by attacking the President.
Trump cancelled a planned to visit the UK to open the new $1bn US Embassy in London.
Mr Khan wrote on Twitter: “This just reinforces what a mistake it was for Theresa May to rush and extend an invitation of a state visit in the first place. Let’s hope that Donald Trump also revisits the pursuit of his divisive agenda.”
Many Londoners have made it clear that Donald Trump is not welcome here while he is pursuing such a divisive agenda. It seems he’s finally got that message. pic.twitter.com/YD0ZHuWtr3

The Government is also partly to blame – Britain under Theresa May has been no real ally to Mr Trump, the Prime Minister has been busy appeasing virtue signalling MPs on both sides of the House.
Last year, when Mr Trump re-tweeted Britain First the PM attacked Mr Trump, he responded and told her “don’t focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom, “We are doing just fine!”
The incident led to MPs having a morning of debate in the House of Commons.
These MPs should now be asking themselves wether a retweet was really worth a debate in the House of Commons and extended unflattering headlines.
Mr Sheinwald also warned Trade Secretary, Liam Fox, that a trade deal between the U.S. and the U.S will not be easy thanks to the diplomatic incidents.
“If you’re a Liam Fox, who has staked so much on the American deal being easy and within our reach around the same time as Brexit, then the way in which the bilateral relationship has atrophied and the tone has changed in the last year since May’s first visit is quite a big blow.”
“It means we should put out of our minds the idea that just around the corner when we leave the EU there is a magical deal with the US that is going to solve all our trade and industrial problems. Absolutely not.”
WHY MEG & HARRY SNUB COULD KILL OFF DEAL
PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle could have a role in ruining Britain’s chances of a trade deal with the United States because the young royals have not stayed politically neutral.
Meghan is not “above politics” as all royals should be and has previously described the President as “divisive” and a “misogynist”, Prince Harry is also good friends with Mr Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama.
Mr Obama is rumoured to be invited to the royal wedding and President Trump is expected to be snubbed – this action would call into question the impartiality of the Royal Family.
Micheal Wolff, author of the controversial “Trump: Fire and Fury” book said that if “You Brits suck up to him and enlist in whatever geopolitical fantasy he has going, he’ll give you what you want – though only if it doesn’t hurt him.”
“It is not so much vengeance, rather ‘you flatter me and I’ll flatter you’. If the Brits give him what he wants he will value the Brits.”
In January, Mr Trump returned the bust of Winston Churchill to the Oval Office – a first nod to the Special Relationship. Since then, the British establishment has been working against the interests of the British people, whilst calling Trump the villain.
It’s quite simple really, treat Mr Trump – a world leader, with respect and he’ll give us a trade deal, carry on with the ridiculous elitist opposition – that Mr Trump has experienced all his life, then he’ll treat us with the contempt we deserve.
