JACOB REES-MOGG has ditched plans to set out an alternative to the Chequers deal.
The plan dubbed “Chuck Chequers” reportedly included proposals to spend billions on the NHS and a whopping tax cut instead forking out on the £39bn EU divorce bill.
It called for a Canada-style free trade deal with the EU and if Brussels refused to give the UK would fall back on a “hard-Brexit” governed by World Trade Organisation rules.
The Express reported that Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg, head of the pro-Brexit European Research Group which led the work on the alternative plan, said the full document would not be published.
He told the FT: “The truth is that we reconsidered.”
It seems the Tory Brexiteers are all talk and no action.
