MPs have returned to the House of Commons has to debate and vote on legislation implementing Boris Johnson’s recently signed trade and cooperation deal with the European Union.
it is expected that the deal will get approval after the leader of the opposition Sir Keir Starmer confirmed the Labour party would back the deal when it reaches Parliament.
The European Parliament is expected to hold a ratification vote early next year. Until the formal approval on both sides, the deal will be applied provisionally.
The UK Parliament is currently in Christmas recess and MPs were not due to return until January 5.
