LABOUR MP: Brexit voters who oppose Freedom of Movement are driven by RACISM

CLIVE LEWIS has caused a major ROW inside the Labour Party after claiming those who want curbs on immigration are driven by RACISM.

The Labour MP for Norwich South made the damning claims whilst live on Sky News yesterday.

Mr Lewis said: “I believe in freedom of movement. You talk about managing migration.

“You are not going to like to hear this — it always comes back to something the left in this country has difficulty with, which is that it is ultimately about racism.”

35% of Labour voters backed Brexit in the Referendum – Norwich South was the only area that voted Remain in a region of Vote Leave wins.

MP Nusrat Ghani said: “To dismiss all voters who are concerned about uncontrolled immigration as simply racist is both seriously misjudged and offensive.

“Throwing around such insults is also damaging for debate.

“I hope Clive Lewis will apologise to the many voters he offended with those comments.”

HUNDREDS of Labour protesters shouted ” Brexit is racist!” and “Come on Corbyn keep us in!” as they marched past the Labour Party conference in Brighton yesterday.

Wearing stickers that said “bollocks to Brexit”, they stopped traffic on the town’s famous seafront.

The loony leftie mob of the unwashed also chanted “Money for aid and education! No more racist deportations! No May! No Brexit! No racist EU exit!”

The protest came amid calls for Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn to soften his stance on Brexit.
