London’s knife crime epidemic is in the national spotlight as it spreads across the country like a diabolical plague. Country wide, in the last 16 days there have been 14 fatal stabbings.
In east London, a man in his 20s was stabbed to death after fleeing his home barefoot screaming for help. 17-year-olds Jodie Chesney and Yousef Makki, who were killed in separate incidents in London and Greater Manchester over the weekend. Meanwhile, in Coventry, a 14-year-old schoolgirl was chased by up to 15 other teenagers before being attacked with what one witness described as scissors.
Speaking to Sky News, a clearly exasperated Khan told a reporter that he has “done all he can” to tackle the epidemic and was caught on film rolling his eyes after Sky’s Sarah-Jane Mee interrupted Khans usual party line blaming the government, accusing him of not taking personal responsibility for what is happening in London.
If it has been once, it has been said a thousand times, London deserves so much better.
