AS PRESIDENT Trump’s first day on his state visit to the UK, we take a quick look at some of the highlights.
After lunch, Trump ventured over to Clarence House, the Royal residence, for afternoon tea with Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla.
From there he met with the queen again to sign a book in Westminster, before paying his respects by playing a wreath on the grave on the unknown soldier. This was a highly symbolic act considering the close connection that both Britain and America have – particularly when fighting side by side to defeat fascism in World War Two.
After this, and after much champagne and meet and greets, he ventured over to a special banquet laid out in his honour, to finish the night off, ready for the full schedule ahead of him tomorrow.
