MOMENTUM is selling “ethical” Jeremy Corbyn T-shirts for £19 and they are made by Indian sweatshop workers.
The workers earn just 55p an hour and would have to work a WEEK before they could afford to buy one of the T-Shirts.
The shirts are manufactured for the Corbyn-backing Momentum group in a factory in Coimbatore.
Momentum turned to Isle of Wight-based clothes company Rapanui, but after an investigation, it turns out Rapanui pay some workers less than half the wage needed to cover basic needs, says Asia Floor Wage Alliance.
According to The Sun, Momentum said it would ensure its merchandising partners pay a living wage. The clothing company, Rapanui, claimed they do pay their staff a living wage even though the Asia Floor Wage Alliance disputed this.
Conservative MP, Andrew Bridgen said: “This demonstrates once again the rank hypocrisy of the left.”
