Yesterday, Dani Dyer confirmed that she and Jack Fincham have split-up, four months on from winning Love Island 2018
The couple won for a simple reason. They were a fairytale couple and had, at least during their time on-screen, the kind of relationship most people aspire too. Although there were a few kinks in the road, by and large, they lacked the serious upheavals that affected say, Meghan and Wes. Dani and Jack were faithful and doted on each other. People voted for the dream as much as Dani and Jack as a couple.
Even their break-up seems to have lacked the usually attendant drama with the blame being pushed onto their “hectic schedules” and, of course, they intend to remain friends; there is something still almost surreal about the whole thing.
The whole thing is a bit mysterious, today, Dyer’s nan, Christine Dyer, took to Twitter to insist the pair are just “too busy” to “live in each other’s pockets”. We may never know the truth of what finally brought the relationship to a close and maybe it is just as they say it is, however, we can rest assured that the dream will survive the demise of their relationship in the hearts and minds of their millions of fans.
