TELLY darling Alison Hammond joined her fellow Brummie Joe Lycett’s new show on Friday on Channel 4.
The new host of The Great British Bake Off will join an exciting new comedy extravaganza hosted by award-winning comedian Joe Lycett live from Birmingham, with a live audience and celebrity guests.

Joe Lycett told Politicalite: “I’m absolutely psyched and naturally very nervous about hosting a weekly live show from Birmingham, but it has been a dream of mine for many years and I look forward to some (controlled) late night chaos.”
Lycett will be broadcasting live from his hometown of Birmingham for five weeks every Friday with a mix of Joe’s community of local legends, LGBTQ+ heroes and allies will join him alongside celebrities and big-name guests from the worlds of comedy, television, music and film.

Channel 4 revealed: “With inclusivity and fun at its heart, the series will see Joe take a look back at the week in a way only he can – combining his unique brand of mischief and mayhem with his singular style of comedy.”
BRUMMIE BOOM
ALISON will also be taking over This Morning with Dermot O’Leary from next week after Phillip Schofield was forced off air over his brothers court case.
Fan favourite Alison, 48 has impressed ITV bosses hosting the show on Fridays with Dermot O’Leary.

Last month it was revealed that Holly Willoughby was “ready to walk away from This Morning” – as fans campaign to “Free Holly” from Schofe and insiders tell Politicalite that Alison is a favourite to replace Schofield to keep Holly on the show.
A source said: “ITV bosses are clear they want Holly to return to This Morning next year,”

“But while a question mark hangs over her future, there have been conversations about who could step in if she decided to go.”
“Top of that list is Alison. She has gone from being seen as a safe pair of hands to a real asset to the channel.”
An ITV source revealed: “Philip Schofield won’t be back on This Morning for some time.”
Late Night Lycett kicks off tonight on Channel 4 at 10pm.
