KINKY AFRO! Shaun Ryder among stars revealed for I’m A Celebrity.. SOUTH AFRICA

AFTER weeks of speculation, Shaun Ryder is among the first nine stars who will appear on the launch episode of ‘I’m a Celebrity… South Africa’ launching on Monday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

ITV told Politicalite last night that the first half of famous faces to enter the upcoming show include former boxing champion Amir Khan, 36, ‘Diversity’ dancer and DJ Jordan Banjo, 30, ex-‘Coronation Street’ actress Helen Flanagan, 32, and former ‘Countdown’ maths whizz Carol Vorderman, 62.

Joining them are Olympian Fatima Whitbread, 62, former royal Butler Paul Burrell, 64, ex-England cricketer Phil Tufnell, 56, ex-supermodel Janice Dickinson, 68, and 60-year-old ‘Happy Mondays’ frontman Shaun Ryder.

ITV said about how more celebrities will enter the show after episode one: “‘I’m a Celebrity… South Africa’ is a brand new show which sees the return of some of the most memorable campmates from ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get me out of Here!’ in the brand new setting of South Africa hosted by telly favourites Ant and Dec.

“There will be many more celebrities taking part in the series but viewers will have to watch to find out who they are and when they will enter camp.

“All the campmates survived the Australian jungle, but South Africa is an even harder proposition which will push them to their limits and test them like never before.”

The broadcaster added about the show’s format: “The challenges are bigger and tougher and the environment harsher and more unforgiving.

“With no public vote, they will be competing against each other in a battle to become the first ever ‘I’m a Celebrity Legend’.”
