RETURNING TO ENDER: Jacqueline Jossa BACK in EastEnders for Dot Funeral

JACQUELINE Jossa is returning to hit-BBC soap EastEnders.

The 29-year-old actress – whose character, Lauren Branning, left Albert Square four years ago – was recently spotted on the set of the BBC soap and she’s poised to make a brief return for Dot Branning’s funeral.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Bosses got in touch with Jacq about
returning for Dot’s special episode and she was more than happy to come
back.”

“She was back last week filming her little guest stint.”

Jacqueline – who has Ella, seven, and Mia, four, with Dan Osborne – departed the soap in 2018 when her character moved to New Zealand, but she now looks set to make a brief comeback.

The character of Dot was played by the late June Brown from 1985 to 2020.

Dot was one of the soap’s most iconic characters and other actors and
actresses are also set to return to ‘EastEnders’ for her funeral.

The source explained: “She was a huge part of ‘EastEnders’ and her legacy will live on in Albert Square forever. She will never be forgotten.

“Without giving anything away the script is beautiful and what she would have wanted.”

June passed away in April, aged 95, and ‘EastEnders’ bosses have been determined to give her the “send off she deserved”.

The funeral scenes have also been emotional for the cast and crew of ‘EastEnders’, many of whom worked alongside June for years.

The insider added: “It was an incredibly hard couple of days on set as she was so loved.

“But everyone was determined to give June and Dot the send off she deserved.”
