LAST night Channel 4 remembered one of its biggest stars, Big Brother legend Nikki Grahame in a special documentary following her tragic death in 2021, aged just 38.
Nikki was arguably one of the greatest reality TV contestants ever to walk through the doors of the most famous house in noughties Britain.
She died of Anorexia during the Coronavirus pandemic, aged just 38.
Big Brother presenter Davina McCall described Nikki as “iconic” following her “really tragic” death at a young age.
Channel 4 commissioned an intimate look at the life of Nikki Grahame, an icon of the golden age of reality television.
She was described as “feisty, volatile and unapologetic” and an inspiration to millions – and when Nikki uttered her immortal line on Big Brother: “Who IS she?! Who IS she?!”, she became a TV legend.
Behind the bright and funny media persona, Nikki was a complex woman who bravely battled anorexia for over 30 years.
Her illness reached crisis point during the UK’s third national lockdown and, tragically, Nikki lost her fight for life on Friday 9th April 2021.
The film celebrated Nikki’s life through archive and home movies.
Exclusive interviews with Nikki’s mother, close family and friends – and tributes from celebrity colleagues revealed the complexities of anorexia and the impact this cruel and misunderstood illness had on Nikki and everybody who loved her.
Sue Graham, Nikki’s mother told Politicalite: “Nikki was so much more than a reality TV contestant and I am looking forward to celebrating her short life in this documentary.”
“It was tough, but Nikki was one special girl – kind and smart with the biggest heart.”
Nikki Grahame, Who is She? is available to stream now on All4.
