Claire Fox, Brexit Party MEP for the North West region launched a stinging attack on Eurocrats today. She was speaking in a debate on a motion aimed to hijack the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.
In the motion, it is stated that Europe will only be “free, united and at peace” when Eastern European countries such as Ukraine have joined the EU.
It is therefore not hard to see how Ms. Fox has come to the conclusion that the occasion is being used to promote EU expansionism:

Fox accused the EU of a “cynical abuse of the Second World War” to push “factional battles” and “contemporary agendas”. She pointed out that the experience of World War II proved that cross-national cooperation is possible without the institutions of the EU.
