LAUREN Southern has called for an investigation into Wikipedia for political bias. She savaged her entry in a series of tweets:
Wikipedia was launched in 2001 with the founding premise being that “no central organisation should control editing”. It has traditionally been looked upon kindly by alt-media but a recent expose found evidence that one of the editors, Ed Sussman, received payment to whitewash mainstream media giants such as Facebook and American mainstream outlet NBC.
Several of Sussman’s requests involved removing or watering down potentially damaging material about clients, even when citing sources considered reliable on the site.
Clearly, when it comes to material on Wikipedia it is very much a case of remembering to take a large pinch of salt at the same time as reading it.
