A PETITION to release Right-wing journalist and Activist Tommy Robinson from prison has reached 429,000 signatures.
Tommy was arrested on Friday after he reported Live on Facebook outside the trial of Muslim groomers at Leeds Crown Court. He is currently being held at HMP Hull.
The judge in the case was seen laughing at a window whilst Tommy was arrested, Judge Marson then sentenced Tommy to 13 Months in prison – despite him having only three months left on his suspended sentence – and tried to ban the press from reporting it.
The actions by the British state backfired and Tommy’s story has been seen across the world with the likes of Donald Trump Jr. tweeting about the case.
On Saturday thousands attempted to storm the gates of Downing Street and protests were held outside Parliament, since then protests have been held across the world in Melbourne, Australia and in Tel Aviv, Isreal.
The Change.org petition said: “Tommy Robinson has been arrested and jailed for reporting on Muslim grooming gangs.
A job that he chooses to do with no regard for his own safety, informing the public of all the wrongs committed in the name of Allah.
Fighting against adversity and reporting on issues that our mainstream media are too afraid to speak of.
Tommy is raising issues that are affecting all of our communities, and that are being swept under the carpet and hidden from the public.
Its time we stand together, stand strong, and stand by his side.”
