LOCALS WANT O’MARA OUT: Locals are demanding that Jared O’Mara is DESELECTED after “never-ending” investigation

LABOUR Party members in Sheffield are calling for their shamed MP, Jared O’Mara to be deselected after a “never-ending” investigation into his sexist and homophobic comments.

Labour launched an investigation into MP Jared O’Mara FOUR MONTHS ago, after he was found to have made derogatory comments online.

Last month, The Yorkshire Post visited the constituency office of O’Mara’s and was told said he would not be attending Parliament on medical advice but added that he was continuing to work “very hard” for constituents in Sheffield.

According to the local paper, his office manager would not say when he had last attended and could not give a single example of him helping a constituent.

And members of a Labour Sheffield Hallam Facebook group have been expressing anger about the lack of progress, complaining a that they have been “kept out of the loop.” according to Guido Fawkes.

Members of the group have been asking “why on earth this is taking so long”

One member said: “Jared should never have been selected to stand as an MP, and it’s only due to the National Executive choosing candidates quickly that Jared was chosen. Nevertheless, on application forms potential MPs are required to disclose any information from their past that could be used to embarrass them in the future: by not revealing his behaviour Jared was either deceitful or else he genuinely believes there’s nothing wrong with the way he behaves, which is possibly even worse.”

Members of the Facebook group have been BANNED from the group and have been told to quit complaining online because “opinion can easily leak out and be used by our opponents.”

Yorkshire Post readers also called for O’Mara to stand down. Matthew Lawson said: “Whatever your political orientation, you deserve representation in parliament. By election now.”

Damon Evans added: “If he isn’t going to do his job, don’t the people of Sheffield Hallam deserve a by-election so they can elect someone who will?” Paul Singh was another to call for his resignation. He said: “It’s time for Jared O’Mara to resign as MP for Sheffield Hallam and let the people decide if they still want him as their representative in Parliament.”

Paul Singh called for his resignation and said: “It’s time for Jared O’Mara to resign as MP for Sheffield Hallam and let the people decide if they still want him as their representative in Parliament.”

Fiona Unwin said: “I think he never expected to win, no one else expected him to win and it’s all a disaster.”

NO REPLY FROM LABOUR

Catherine Mirfin said: “I’ve regularly been tweeting Labour asking what’s happening as he’s my MP and not received any reply.”

Last week Momentum took control of the Labour NEC meaning the investigation could go on indefinitely or Jared could even be let of the hook.
