REVEALED: ITV’s 77-year-old ‘Freezing’ Pensioner Elsie is a political activist

EARLIER this week Good Morning Britain attacked Prime Minister Boris Johnson during an Exclusive interview with Susanna Reid and grilled him over the cost of living crisis, using a case study of a pensioner who had seen her energy bills jump from £17 to £85 a month.

ITV News used the ‘story’ of a 77-year-old vulnerable widow Elsie who claimed she spends her days riding around on buses using her freedom bus pass to keep her heating bills down, but ITV failed to disclose to viewers that Elsie was, in fact, a seasoned political campaigner and not a vulnerable old lady they had found.

Elsie, real name Elsie Hall-Thompson, aged 77, from Herefordshire is a political activist for Age UK and it appears she has even used her free bus pass to take part in a protest on Whitehall.

It seems Age UK and Labour have been working in cahoots along with ITV in an attempt to make the Prime Minister and Conservative Party look bad, with Age UK even deleting a profile from its website of the 77-year-old pensioner.

The now-deleted Age UK page claims the ‘freezing pensioners’ name is Elsie Hall-Thompson, and she is a left-wing activist and campaigner.

She even lobbied Chancellor Rishi Sunak about the energy crisis and held a protest outside the Cabinet Office.

Age UK said on its website: “Elsie has become quite the celebrity lately after meeting the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak and confronting him on the energy crisis.”

“She has recently appeared on ITV news and been involved with a peaceful protest, asking for more help for over 50s. Elsie said she enjoyed getting to meet someone in power and having the chance to ask him questions without him giving pre-prepared answers!”

Once again, it seems the story was just the product of Labour spin-doctors.
