CHIP OF THE OLD BLOCK: Wes Streeting apologises for violent tweets against Journalist

WES Streeting – the Labour Party gangster apologised for historic tweets in which he threatened to kill a newspaper reporter.

Yesterday Politicalite revealed that the Labour MP for Ilford North – who is widely tipped to replace Sir Keir Starmer as Labour leader – threatened to kill the newspaper reporter Jan Moir.

He was questioned about it in Parliament today by brave Sleaford and North Hykeham Conservative MP Caroline Johnson.

The Daily Express reported that Ms Johnson pointed out that one of the biggest problems faced by NHS staff was abuse.

She said: “One of the challenges that doctors face and members of staff is that they face the challenge of being abused in the surgery and I wonder if he would like to apologise for some of the comments that he has made on social media.”

Streeting, who has campaigned against social media companies that allow content inciting violence tweeted: “There would be nothing natural about Jan Moir’s death if I shoved the bigoted old bag under a train.”

In a leaked Direct Message, Streeting – who is the grandson of a London gangster and armed robber who hung out with the Kray Twins – was also accused of threatening a voter on Election Day.

CHIP OF THE OLD BLOCK: Streeting’s grandfather hung out with London’s infamous Kray Twins.

He later issued an apology through a spokesman.

The spokesman said: “The tweets Wes posted as a student activist have been deleted because, however long ago they were posted, they were in bad taste.”

“This particular tweet was in response to a deeply homophobic column about the death of Stephen Gateley, which Wes still maintains was abhorrent and offensive.

“However, he would never respond in the same way today and is sorry for the way in which his anger and upset at this piece was framed.”
