Jerome Rodrigues, a prominent activist in the French Yellow Vest movement is in a coma today following yesterday’s 11th consecutive weekend of protest across France. Rodrigues was hit in the right-eye with a as yet unidentified projectile deployed by the police.
His lawyer, Philippe de Veule, confirmed that Rodrigues has been put in an artificial coma and will most likely be handicapped for life.

Protesters continue to defy the effective ban on any unauthorised gathering but they are now being met by counter-protesters voicing their support for Emmanuel Macron.
Meanwhile, the French Yellow Vests have declared their intention to contest the Euro Elections due to be contested in May this year. A slate of 10 candidates from a variety of backgrounds from a forklift operator to a small business owner was announced earlier this week.
