Gerard Batten has taken aim at Theresa May as it was revealed yesterday that she will be taking not one but two holidays during the Parliamentary recess.
Mrs May is currently in Salzburg and has met with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrez Babis. However, following on from these talks she will head to the first of her two Jollydays in Italy.
Mr Batten hit out at her extravagance at a “crucial time” for Britain and Brexit:
Theresa May is taking two holidays in August while Brexit is in crisis. She should be focusing on leading Britain out of the EU. If she had actually set about Brexit in the way UKIP has been describing for years, the job would have been done long before, and we could all be enjoying an extended summer break. Instead of that we are no closer to leaving the EU than we were on June 24th 2016.
Mrs May should go on a permanent holiday and hand over to someone who wants to actually leave the EU.
Of course, failing that she could always take the time while she is in Italy to pay a visit to Matteo Salvini to pick up some handy hints on how to stand up for your country.
