David Davis has issued a stark warning to Theresa May that although he believes she will broker a deal with the EU, any deal that is based on the Chequers betrayal will not pass Parliament.
For the avoidance of doubt I believe the PM will get a deal with the EU but anything based on the Chequers plan or one that keeps us in the Customs Union will not pass the Commons. Time to revert to free trade deal suggested by EU?

His intervention comes as a new poll of the Tory grassroots for the Conservative Home website saw him surge an impressive 7 points. However, he still trails Sajid Javid and Boris Johnson remains in the lead as the grassroots choice to succeed Mrs May.
In his response to the Budget, Mr Davis was accused of making a ‘leadership speech’. He called for a boost to welfare spending and reform of the failing student loan system.
