DON FOR GOOD: British Ambassador QUITS after Trump Takedown

BRITAIN’S ambassador to the United States has been forced to QUIT following a popcorn grabbing row with President Trump.

Ambassador Kim Darroch made shocking comments about the US President in leaked memos published by the Mail on Sunday.

Kim called Trump’s White House “inept” and claimed that there was “vicious infighting and chaos” inside the Oval Office and said that Trump’s presidency would “end in disgrace.”

Kim told the Foreign Office: “Since the leak of official documents from this embassy there has been a great deal of speculation surrounding my position and the duration of my remaining term as ambassador.”

“I want to put an end to that speculation. The current situation is making it impossible for me to carry out my role as I would like.

“Although my posting is not due to end until the end of this year, I believe in the current circumstances the responsible course is to allow the appointment of a new ambassador.”

His resignation followed a ‘Trump Takedown’ on Twitter after the President said the White House would no longer have any dealings with him.

Trump Tweeted: “The wacky Ambassador that the U.K. foisted upon the United States is not someone we are thrilled with, a very stupid guy. He should speak to his country, and Prime Minister May, about their failed Brexit negotiation, and not be upset with my criticism of how badly it was handled.”

“I told @theresa_may how to do that deal, but she went her own foolish way-was unable to get it done. A disaster! I don’t know the Ambassador but have been told he is a pompous fool. Tell him the USA now has the best Economy & Military anywhere in the World, by far.”

In last nights ITV debate Britain’s expected next PM, Boris Johnson refused to say whether he would keep Sir Kim as the Ambassador to the US.

I always thought it was part of an ambassador’s job to pass back to his government his personal thoughts and opinions on the government of the country he was serving in.
I think there should be a thorough investigation into who leaked these emails and who ever it is should be sacked.
It would only have been done to cause a problem between the UK and the US most likely by some remain supporting civil servant.
