THE SUN faced a mass-backlash yesterday over a story that accused Tommy Robinson of boasting about ‘scoring gear’ in multiple countries and making a racial slur.
The video, filmed in Bologna, Italy, last month, showed the right-wing activist, 35 making videos and joking with friends, the videos were intended for a private group chat.
Tommy says: “I’ve gone to Qatar, I’ve gone to Doha and scored gear on the sesh while they’re all praying.”
In the video Robinson, also asked for a taxi from a local, as he tried to find the “s***test pub in this city”.He calls to the man and asks: “Bro, do you know where this pub is? I’ve got a name of a pub – can I get a taxi? Little p*** that drives a car.”
In another video, he sings that he is “king of the whole Islam race”.
The Sun claimed that the clips were sent to his followers on social media, but they were in fact taken from private group chat messages on messaging app WhatsApp raising questions about were The Sun actually got the footage from, lets never forget the Phone Hacking scandal.
Tommy hit back at the claims and said it was “banter” between friends in a group-chat that featured people of ALL races, including Asian participants mocking White people and calling them “white trash”
He posted evidence online of the group chat’s contents and said: “Will the media also show these comments from the same group chat, it’s racial, religious & political banter amongst friends in a private group chat consisting of whites black & Asian pals. Put the banter in context.”
Robinson denied claims that he had bought drugs in Qatar.
After The Sun posted the article to it’s Facebook page yesterday, they faced a mass backlash with the majority backing our Tommy.
Over 2,000 people did not buy The Sun’s attack – and saw it for what it was – an attack on the right-wing activist because he is about to expose the BBC.
The majority of the comments on The Sun’s Facebook post showed that they have lost the minds of the nation.
Daniel Bostock wrote: “This is fake news. It was banta with some of his best mates. I’m surprised people believe this without question.”
Marcus R. R. Hooper added: “Who is the Sun’s target audience nowadays? It’s clearly not the working class anymore and it’s not going to be the middle-class libtards or the upper-class toffs, so who is actually buying this shit?”
Damien Mann: “Seems to be a little bit convenient this considering Tommy’s undercover footage of the BBC #panodrama why are you not showing John Sweeney taking the piss out off the working class? Tommy, you legend the more they try the stronger we become.”
Janice Hakeney: ” Is that it? do you not think, just for a change, your comic could report some real news, I’ve got a story that should be all over the media maybe you could look into it, it’s the one about Tommy exposing panorama.”
Alan Wren wrote: “So far 99% of comments are against you SUN you must be really dumb change is coming 🖕👍”
Davey Doyle: “Where are the videos of the guy from the BBC boasting about drinking champagne and red wine all on expenses??? The public deserves to know this.”
Michael Mckeown: “Oh dear SUN it all seems to have backfired on you, don’t see to many comments in support of your fake news bias. Do yourselves a favour and show the videos of how the corrupt BBC show contempt for the people, how they waste licence payers money, not private banter between friends. The SUN is just as corrupt as the BBC and it will be your downfall.”
Maria Cj Conlon: “All you have done is reinforced what he has already said. Selective reporting and victimisation. Why is it I have not seen 1 report about panadrama??? Your proving you are just what he says you are.”
Donna Lightfoot said: “The Sun newspaper embarrassing yourselves yet again!!… you have blatantly edited various excerpts from video conversations and taken them out of context… for once, why can’t the MSM report on the FACTS in their true context… you have just proved to the world that yet again, you can’t be trusted for truthful reporting!!…”
