IN 2020, anything goes. We’ve lost our freedom, our daily lifes and even some of our rights in the fight against Coronavirus, and now extraordinary, Rio Di Janero gangs are enforcing a lockdown after the Brazilian government refused.
An organised crime group said: “If the government won’t do the right thing, organised crime will”.
The gangsters said they will teach people to ‘respect’ an 8pm shutdown.
“Attention all residents of Rio das Pedras, Muzema and Tijuquinha! Curfew from 8pm today.”
“Whoever is seen on the street after this time will learn to respect the next one”
“We want the best for the population. If the government does not have the capacity to fix it, organised crime will solve it.’ ”
1.5million people of Rio’s residents live in the crowded spaces of tin-roof shacks and narrow streets.
Gangs fear that the virus could wipe out the poor as most live within three rooms with up to EIGHT people… meaning there is no chance of isolation.
It comes to something when criminal gangs are doing the job of the Governemnt.
