JAMES O’ Brien launched an extraordinary attack on what he brands the ‘far-right’ on LBC, saying they have “no right” to wear a poppy.
His comments came in response to the news that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called victorious Brazillian President-elect Jair Bolsonaro to offer his congratulations. British Prime Minister Theresa May has reportedly snubbed Bolsonaro refusing to offer the customary congratulations.
O’Brien said that alot of soldiers in “western democracies” had died in both the First and Second World Wars, however, he went onto add: “But of course if your an admirer of Donald Trump or Viktor Orban or Jair Bolsonaro or Marine Le Pen, or anyone like that, you’ve switched sides since the end of the Second World War.”
One of the key features of Remembrance Sunday is that it is meant to be politically neutral but then again perhaps it is too much to ask the left to understand or to respect that.
