NOT WELCOME: U.S. Stops Afghani Refugee Flights Over Measles Outbreak

DOZENS of countries across the World have halted Afghan refugee flights due to outbreaks of Measles among Afghanis, as Britain continues to take them in.

The flights were halted by the United States and Germany last week after multiple cases were discovered in refugees who had arrived in the U.S. on commercial airlines.

The White House said the change in policy was backed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention after the virus outbreak.

“A measles diagnosis was confirmed the following day.”

“Immediately following notification of the suspect case, the guest was placed in isolation and guests at risk of exposure were placed in quarantine.”

“Post-exposure vaccination was also provided to those at risk and contact tracing was completed. Since the identification of the case, no other guests have been diagnosed with measles,” the statement added.

More than 41,000 people were infected with measles in the first six months of 2018 across Europe with 37 deaths.

Experts blamed the surge in infections on a drop in the number of people being vaccinated.
