GEERT Wilders has been refused police protection after he planned to attend a pro-Tommy rally in London.
The Dutch MP, who is a critic of Islam accepted an invitation to appear on stage with Tommy Robinson outside the Old Bailey next Tuesday, but has been denied protection from UK authorities.
Mr Wilders said he wanted to come London to support activist Tommy Robinson who is facing trial for reporting on the case of a grooming gang.
Wilders tweeted: “Unfortunately AGAIN the British authorities refused police protection.
“Probably politically motivated. What a sham.” He added.
“The British authorities also refused and denied the formal request of the Dutch authorities to grant weapon permits for my Dutch police detail so unfortunately I cannot attend.”
They won’t be able to stop me supporting #TommyRobinson though. He is a true hero!” Said Geert.
In 2017, The Washington Post revealed that Mr Wilders is isolated by strict security due to threats against his life by radical Islamic extremists.
He has lived under strict police protection since 2004.
He is guarded round-the-clock by armed police and lives in a government-provided safe house.
When he appears in public, his escort must first “clear” the area before he can enter.
