PRIME Minister Boris Johnson was in Brussels Wednesday to meet with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to discuss Brexit.
On Saturday, while addressing the media after a phone call with Mr Johnson, Von Der Leyen underlined that issues of “level playing field, governance and fisheries” were still preventing a deal but that both sides were willing to further the talks.
Although Britain is due to exit the European Union’s economic structures on January 1, 2021, European Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic admitted that a post-Brexit trade deal is unlikely to be reached before the end of 2020.
