DARREN Grimes re-instatement at GB News after claims that he pursued a relationship with one of his producers has left GB News staffers seething, Politicalite can exclusively reveal.
GB News suspended the presenter following an internal investigation into allegations that he sexually harassed one of his straight producers working on his “Real Britain” weekend show.
Speaking exclusively to Politicalite last night, a GB News insider revealed: “He was suspended over an investigation into the sexual harassment of his producer, but it seems he’s been allowed back despite extensive evidence that he sexually harassed a junior (straight) member of staff, he stalked him, threatened to have him fired and sent him abusive messages.”
“He turned up at his flat and tried to get in and lured him to his hotel room at the infamous GB News Hilton.”
“TIP OF THE ICEBERG”
“He has been let off with a slapped wrist because they are too scared to fire him.” the source added.
The insider also claimed that the revelations are “just the tip of the iceberg” at how bad things are at the right-wing broadcaster with morale.
“Everything out there currently is the tip of the iceberg about how bad it is at GB news.” the source claimed.
“All the executives [either] quit or are now being fired for raising their concerns. Mick Booker hasn’t been included in any decision making.”
“So many of us are desperate to get out, it’s hell, and now it seems people can get away with serious sexual harassment.”
A source familiar with the case claimed Politicalite last night: “Darren Grimes was sacked from GBNews over an alleged relationship with junior staffer.”
He was also accused of abusing his position of power at the broadcaster.
Our GB News insider revealed: “He abused his authority to demand a relationship with a junior staffer”
“The lad was threatened with losing his job if he did not comply” added the source.
The host of “Real Britain” on the right-leaning channel was not on air over the weekend and was replaced by Calvin Robinson, an ordained right-wing Anglican priest, who appears in his priest outfit.
The move led to fans wondering what had happened, with many on social media wondering why he had removed all his tweets and changed his display picture to black image.
James Heale, the Diary Editor for The Spectator revealed in early September that Grimes was “understood” to be leaving the channel, that launched in 2021 to massive media hype.
The suspension came after a recent social media storm in which Grimes attacked King Charles in which he said his majesty was “less Crown Prince” more “Clown Prince”.
A GB News insider told Politicalite earlier on Monday: “Looks like he’s gone, but I’ve not heard anything official.”
Grimes later updated his social media feeds with messages about homophobia and abuse.
