HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAILY STAR: Cheers For The T*ts and The Testicle Eating Killer Fish

THE DAILY Star turned forty today, the only red-top paper in Britain that hasn’t succumbed to the PC brigade and still hosts a woman with her tits out on Page 3.

Unlike its rival The Sc*m, The Daily Star is unashamedly brash and is never afraid to report on Halal Meat and Radical Islam… it refuses to back any single political party and simply brings the news without Tory bias and still sells over 300m copies a day.

For forty years The Star has given us extraordinary news that shocks, makes us laugh and provided insight into the world of celeb gossip, Big Brother housemates and testicle eating crabs.

The Star was born after the Express printing presses went underused due to falling Daily Express circulation.

MediaGuardian reported that instead of laying off staff, The Star was born to as a paper of the working classes.

Roy Greenslade wrote: “At the time, another red-top looked anything but a good idea because there was no obvious gap in the market. The Sun was in the ascendancy, selling just short of 4m a day, and the Daily Mirror, although sliding down the sales ladder, still had 3.8m. Surely, there was no audience for the Daily Star?”

There was and against the odds, the entire 1.4m print run of the first issue of the Daily Star, on 2 November 1978, sold out. And it kept on selling even eclipsing The Sun in the early 1980s.”

The online version has even reported without bias on right-wing Activist Tommy Robinson, it’s not perfect but it’s a shining light in the fading sky of red-top tabloid journalism.

From Politicalite… a big Happy Birthday to the Daily Star! … Here are some of their most outrageous headlines.
