WE CAN no longer think of Netflix without thinking of the streaming sites nickname, Nonceflix.
Not content with sending children running behind their sofa’s after featuring ‘Cuties’ last year with a series that promoted child sexualisation with images of young girls dressed in scantily-clad outfits and sexualised poses, a new Netflix series starring Ru Paul is worrying parents after featuring a vulnerable boy going on tour with a drag queen.

The show called ‘AJ & The Queen’ – a story about a vulnerable 11 year-old boy whose mother is a drug addict meets a drag queen and is taken on tour and dressed as a girl.
“RuPaul stars as Ruby Red, a bigger than life but down on her luck drag queen who travels across America from club to club in a rundown 1990’s van, in order to recoup the savings recently stolen from her.” says Netflix.
“She’s paired up with AJ, a recently orphaned, tough-talking, scrappy 10-year-old white girl stowaway. As these two misfits, one tall – one small, travel from city to city.”
The programme was created by HBO Sex and the City producer Michael Patrick King and RuPaul Charles, the star of Ru Paul’s Drag Race.

The series claims AJ and RuPaul “Are two misfits, one tall, one small, travel from city to city, Ruby’s message of love and acceptance winds up touching people and changing their lives for the better.”
Netflix says in its own words that AJ “becomes fascinated with a twerking dance crew. Hoping to join them, she starts to explore her femininity, defying her family’s traditions.”
“Oh, and RuPaul performs a killer musical number in every town.”
Yet the show has been slammed for casting straight characters as “baddies” creating a hostile environment to normalize a trans lifestyle by viewers in conservative Spain.
“Que pedo con aj and the queen ? Ponen a todos lo heteros como malvados o pendejosny los gays… Siguen siendo un cliché , el cliché por el que siempre reniegan.”
“What fart with aj and the queen? They put everyone straight as evil or assholes and gays … They are still a cliché, the cliché for which they always deny.” said a Spanish viewer.

Another viewer said: “have y’all seen his show AJ and the Queen? it’s really weird how RuPaul tries to convince this child that they’re a girl even though they explicitly tell him “i’m not a boy or a girl.” it’s rlly unsettling.”
