SKY News has dismissed claims of Muslim voter fraud in Peterborough that was exposed by Politicalite earlier this year as “weaponised” to inflame Islamophobia.
The outlet that has been widley turned off for its pro-Remain bias and attacks on right-right figures such as Tommy Robinson claimed that accusations are being “weaponised” on social media to inflame Islamophobia, a leading anti-extremism think tank has warned.
“We saw very similar narratives unfold in last year’s Swedish election, and it appears that this is becoming a trope which anti-Muslim actors are drawing on globally.”
“Immediately after the Peterborough by-election the issue of voter fraud became prominent on social media, linked to anti-Muslim sentiment.”
Sky singled out Politicalite and said: “Accounts promoting the topic of voter fraud in Peterborough include right-wing publication Politicalite, which was recently banned from Facebook over violation of hate speech policies.”
False. Politicalite was banned for supporting Tommy Robinson’s campaign become an MEP – as reported by Breitbart.
It’s clear Sky would rather ignore voter fraud, than call it out.
