DONALD Trump reportedly ‘threw two Starburst’ towards Angela Merkel at the G7 summit in Canada and said, ‘here, Angela, don’t say I never give you anything.’
According to reports ‘He stood up, he put his hand in his pocket and he took two candies out, threw them on the table and said: “here, Angela, don’t say I never give you anything”‘
Trump reportedly agreed to sign the agreement, before another tense exchange took place between him and Ms Merkel.
Ian Bremmer, president of the political risk consultancy firm the Eurasia Group told CBS’ This Morning “Trump was sitting there with his arms crossed clearly not liking the fact that he felt like they were ganging up on him. He eventually agreed to sign it,”
“He stood up, he put his hand in his pocket and he took two Starburst candies out, threw them on the table and said: ‘here, Angela, don’t say I never give you anything.’”
Mr Trump then refused to sign the agreement, lashing out at the Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau, on Twitter and leaving the summit to fly to Singapore for talks with the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un.
Trump and Merkel reportedly have a difficult relationship.
