U.S. GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN: Democrats accused of putting Illegal Immigrants before Americans

Published

on

DEMOCRATS have been accused of being “far more concerned with Illegal Immigrants” than they are of Americans after they allowed a partial shutdown of the U.S. Government.

Republicans have refused to allow an amnesty for over 800,000 DACA illegal immigrants and the Democrats have therefore allowed the U.S. government to partially shut down.

The DACA program was set up in 2012 via executive order under Obama. The programme protected so-called ‘Dreamers’, who came to the U.S. illegally as minors and be protected from immediate deportation.

According to Breitbart, More than 300 million American citizens benefit from a continuing operation of the federal government including the funding of U.S. armed forces and virtually no American citizens benefit from granting legal status and work authorization to nearly a million illegal immigrants.

Republicans argue that amnesty for DACA immigrants allows them to compete against United States citizens in the same age group who are having great difficulty finding good, well-paid jobs.

The Democrats are using a partial government shutdown in order to protect the interests of people who broke U.S. law by entering the country illegally as children.

So far, Trump, Mitch McConnell (R) and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R) have refused to consider Democrats’ DACA demands until there is a bipartisan agreement to reopen the federal government.

“Senate Democrats shut down this government, and now Senate Democrats need to open this government back up,” Ryan said yesterday.

Trump weighed in on the shutdown on Twitter and said that “Democrats are far more concerned with Illegal Immigrants than they are with our great Military or Safety at our dangerous Southern Border. They could have easily made a deal but decided to play Shutdown politics instead. #WeNeedMoreRepublicansIn18 in order to power through mess!”

As thousands of Women marched on the U.S. National Mall in Washington, to protest Trump’s first year in office, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi stood at the Capitol and pointed to a poster depicting a Trump tweet from last May calling for a “good shutdown.”

“Happy anniversary, Mr. President,” Pelosi said. “Your wish came true. You wanted the shutdown? The shutdown is all yours.”
