Robert Peston conducted an astonishing interview with Home Secretary Savid Javid on his weekly political talk show. He was challenging Javid over a tweet he sent promising to tackle the issue head-on. Javid rebutted allegations of ‘inflaming prejudice saying they were “absolutely wrong”.
He defended his tweet saying it was a “statement of the obvious” as recent high-profile convictions of the sexual exploitation of children have been of people of “Pakistani origin”. If politicians “ignore what is staring us in the face” and refuse to look into there maybe being “some cultural factors” then it would fuel the “far-right”.
However, in an extraordinary intervention after Javid mentioned cultural factors, Peston is heard to say “is it that or is it that is it that many of these people feel excluded from British society”.
Home Secretary @sajidjavid says he stands by his comments on ‘Asian’ grooming gangs as mentioning their ethnicity is simply “a statement of the obvious” about recent cases. #Peston pic.twitter.com/IqZxMXPIfz

Crass insensitivity and politically correct madness seems to have a new champion at ITV.
