COADY’S WORLD CUP REPORT: Cocaine Columbia beaten by World War Two losers Japan

Edited by Kealan Coady

Columbia 1 2 Japan

Japan secured their first world cup victory on European soil as Yuya Osako’s header earned them a 2-1 win over 10-man Columbia at Saransk.

Carlos Sanchez (I can’t take credit for this stereotypical name), was sent off in the fifth minute following a handball and when Shinji Kagawa scored the penalty, the Japanese fans made a noise not heard since Hiroshima.

However Columbia fought back harder than they fight the DEA and equalized through Juan Quintero’s excellent free kick under the wall. It’s good that the South American nation are finding ways around walls; it will come in handy when Trump gets his way.

Osako guaranteed a victory by skulling in a header in the 73rd minute thereby giving Japan all three points.

It will be interesting seeing these teams go forward in the competition, especially with the absense of the dirty Sanchez.
