EMBATTLED Prime Minister, Theresa May – took the strain out of the toughest job in British politics and traveled to Italy with her husband Phillip for a summer holiday.
After a turbulent few months following the biggest political gamble since Camerons Brexit vote – in which she lost all authority and her majority, the Prime Minister seemed to be enjoying the lighter side of political life.
Downing Street released pictures of the Prime Minister walking around the Italian town of Desenzano del Garda.
Mrs May and her husband will spend five days in Italy before visiting Belgium where she will mix her holiday with state business by attending a commemoration ceremony for the Battle of Passchendaele.
The Battle of Passchendaele was a key campaign of the First World War which fought by the Allies against Germany.
Theresa and Phillip May will return to the UK on August 14th.
