ACTIVIST Tommy Robinson is suing Cambridgeshire Police today following an incident in 2016 in which the force threw Tommy and his family out of the city.
The trial, in Peterborough, is expected to last until March 15.
Robinson, 36 was at the Hop and Grain Store Pub with his kids in the English city of Cambridge in August 2016 on a ‘family day out’, he had taken his children to a local fair, and then went to the Hop & Grain to watch a football game.
Police Officers then approached Robinson and his family and removed him, Tommy also claims that he was forced to leave ‘due to left-wing groups nearby.’
The incident caused his children distress, and his daughter was so scared by the events, she ran into the road and was nearly killed, claimed Tommy.

Police say he was asked to leave as officers wanted to stop ‘any potential trouble.’
His lawyer says he was asked to leave because of his beliefs.
Mr Robinson’s lawyer Allison Gurden told the Court: “In relation to Mr Lennon it is not just what he says but how he looks, so his beliefs and views are manifested, and leads to one of the officers, PC Corbett, refer[ring] to the image he has made of himself. Mr Lennon is not saying it is his right to preach his beliefs but [is saying he] was treated differently because of the views. In relation to article 9 and 10, it wasn’t his opinions he was expressing on that day but opinions that he holds that are very well known.”
Ms Gurden also added: “It cannot be denied there is a possibility that Mr Lennon was effectively targeted because of his image of who he is.”
Gurden added: “In a nutshell, Mr Lennon is a Luton Town supporter who travelled by train to watch the Cambridge United versus Luton Town football match in August 2016. He travelled with his two children and their two friends to watch the game.
Police are reported to have offered Mr Robinson money to keep the trial out of court – but sources say that Tommy declined, as ‘this isn’t about money, it’s about principle’.
