BORIS Johnson has said he “would not be happy” with any move by the BBC to ban patriotic songs from the Last Night of the Proms, it has been claimed.
Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said that the Prime Minister “would not be happy with any move to ban Rule Britannia from Last Night of the Proms.”
A Number Ten spokesman said that Boris had “made clear” that while there may be ‘strong emotions’ on such issues ‘we need to tackle the substance of the issues not the symbols’

Boris’ attack on the BBC comes as 84.8% of Politicalite readers said the BBC should not axe Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory.

The BBC was accused of axing the two songs from it’s coveted Last Night of the Proms according to the Sunday Times and it left Brits fuming at the anti-British corporation funded by YOUR hard-earned tax money.

In a poll of 2,516 people, 84.8% said the BBC should not axe the patriotic songs, whilst just 15.2% said they should be chopped.
Rebel Laurence Fox was also outraged writing on Twitter: “I feel so honoured to be British and part of the incredible and diverse modern nation we have become. Without the past, we wouldn’t be where we are today.”
