MONDAY at the Conservative Party conference was a bit of a damp squib with Phillip Hammonds keynote speech falling flat with a half-empty conference hall for most of the day – the only exciting event at the Manchester G-Mex (Manchester One) was Katie Hopkins turning up in a WEDDING DRESS.
One source told Politicalite that there wasn’t much enthusiasm among members at Conference – as many members are fed up of the status-quo and Theresa May’s dismal leadership.
But, Across town, one room was filled to brim – as queues to see a Jacob Rees-Mogg event at the Radisson Hotel were so long the police had to be called to keep order according to Guido Fawkes.
With the country bored of the Remainers in Chief running the Conservative Party, the Moggster was the main box office event at the conference so far.
Mr Rees-Mogg said that “organisations within the state” are working against Brexit, naming Amber Rudd’s Home Office as a threat to Brexit and warning: “I am very suspicious of Her Majesty’s Treasury”. A clear attack on Phillip Hammond.
He added that unless the EU agrees to talk about the future trade relationship “we must make it absolutely clear we will terminate negotiations”. Increasing numbers of Tory MPs are resigned to the negotiations failing – it is worrying the government has done so little to talk publicly about its plans for no deal.
HOPKINS IN A WEDDING DRESS
Katie Hopkins took things to the extreme following a morning of Twitter spats with Piers Morgan over the shootings in Las Vegas – and decided to turn up to the conference in a WEDDING DRESS.
Hopefully, Tuesday will be a more eventful day.
