Tory Remoaners are facing the wrath of grassroots Tory activists as leading figures in the campaign to wreck Brexit such as former Attorney General, Dominic Grieve face increasing pressure from local Associations to step-down.
Grieve has been a ringleader of the Remoaner group. It was his amendment that forced the ‘Meaningful Vote’ which the Prime Minister is facing on Tuesday to be accepted. The latest defeat he and his allies have inflicted on the government forces May to publish a ‘Plan B’ in the event of a defeat in the Commons on Tuesday, something that looks to be very much on the cards.
However, grassroots Tories are increasingly unhappy. According to one report, a member of his local Beaconsfield Association said “he would ‘hurl rotten tomatoes at him’ if he tried to run for election again.”
Meanwhile, Nick Boles, another leading Remoaner, is under fire from his local Association which is plotting to de-select him. Boles represents a seat, Grantham & Stamford which voted to Leave the EU by 61%.
The contempt for democracy on display by our elected representatives is truly disgusting.
