RISHI’S RAP: Matt Hancock SLAMMED by PM Rishi Sunak over I’m A Celebrity…

PRIME Minister Rishi Sunak has slammed Matt Hancock over his appearance on smash-hit ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Speaking last night, the PM said Hancock was letting his constituents down as the reality show returned to Australia – Hancock will appear later in the week.

“I was very disappointed, MPs should be “working hard for their constituents”, he told The Sun.

“I think politics is a noble profession, at its best — it can and should be. “

“But it’s incumbent on politicians to earn people’s respect and trust.”

“They do that by working hard for their constituents, as the vast majority of MPs do. That is why I was very disappointed with Matt’s decision.”

“The vast majority of MPs are really hard-working — they got into it because they want to make a difference for their communities. “

“Most MPs spend their time street by street, constituent by constituent, trying to make a difference, that’s what my colleagues do.”

“That’s really special and why I was disappointed with what Matt did.”

SUNAK “UNLIKELY” TO WATCH HANCOCK ON IAC

PRIME Minister Rishi Sunak is ”unlikely” to watch Matt Hancock on smash hit reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! that started last night live from Australia on ITV – you can catch up on the ITV Hub.

The former health Secretary and Conservative MP has been stripped of the Tory whip after signing up to Britain’s biggest reality show.

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman told Politicalite that it was “unlikely” Rishi Sunak would be watching the programme.

The PM believes that at a challenging time for the country MPs should be working hard for their constituents whether that is in the House or in their constituency,” Downing Street said.

Mr Hancock was a surprise extra name added to the list of contenders and allies said he would use his appearance to promote his work on dyslexia.

The ally said producers of the show have agreed that Mr Hancock can communicate with constituency staff if there is an urgent matter in West Suffolk.

He will make a donation to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk and he will also be required to declare the amount he receives from the show to Parliament.
