CHANCELLOR Phillip Hammond has sparked fury after claiming that there are no unemployed people.
Appearing on the BBC’s Andrew Marr show, The smug chancellor responded to a question and said “Where are all these unemployed people?… there are no unemployed people because we’ve created three-and-a-half million jobs”
The Remoaner Chancellor – who is a divisive figure within the Tory party, will no doubt live to regret his ridiculous gaffe.
He later backtracked on his comments insisting the 1.4million unemployed people “haven’t been forgotten by this government” but unemployment “is at record lows”.
Labour’s John McDonnell responded to Hammond’s comment and said Hammond was “out of touch”
To simply ‘forget’ the millions of unemployed people across the country shows the current Government up for being out-of-touch and 1.4 Million miles from reality.
With rising Inflation, a toughening jobs market and millions facing the squeeze, it is not a time to be acting smug and claiming non-existent economic victories.
