Sir Bill Cash MP, a committed Brexiteer and an ardent opponent of Theresa May’s sell-out deal, has come under heavy fire for writing an article attacking the Prime Minister.
Cash slammed the “appeasement” by the Prime Minister of the EU and her “capitulation”.
All of this was too rich for Tory Remoaners though, Nicky Morgan described the comments as “not helpful” and made a link between the comments made by Cash and violent threats directed against MPs.
Asked if she saw a link, the former Cabinet Minister replied:
“I do. I think it’s been shown that the language that MPs or campaigners, mainly in favour of Brexit, are using is stoking up other people, often who are sitting at home watching all this stuff and it gets them really, really angry and fired up and then they say things that they would never say face to face.”
Remoaners, losing the political debate are clearly trying to close it down by accusing Brexiteers of doing things they are not. The weight of evidence points to the responsibility for threats and violence lying with the Remoaning side and indeed this weekend saw two UKIP candidates in Coventry pelted with eggs.
