BORIS Johnson was allegedly threatened into resigning by a shadowy Tory, it is claimed.
Boris allegedly received a phone call from Dougie Smith as part of the plot to overthrow the outgoing Prime Minister, by a close friend of Tory leadership front runner Rishi Sunak.
According to Mail+, Dougie Smith, who is a close friend of Mr Johnson’s potential successor and former Chancellor Rishi Sunak, made the threat as part of efforts to destabilise the Government.
The Mail reports that Smith made the calls and influenced four No10 allies to resign from the Government.

The move came earlier this year, after the PM accused Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer of failing to prosecute paedophile Jimmy Savile.
A senior source said: ‘The call was aggressive, threatening, bullying. Boris was totally shaken by the venom in the threat. Smith told Boris to resign and if he refused they would get him any way. That was February. It took until July but they did get him in the end.’
